The Madonna della Corona is a suggestive sanctuary built on a rock face overlooking the Valdadige, existing since the 16th century.

This pleasant place has been a destination for religious pilgrimages for a long time and is still today one of the most important sacred places in the Veneto region.

From the parking area we will start our excursion to Monte Cimo, a simple but extremely interesting route with a spectacular view of the sanctuary, the Valdadige and the Lessini Mountains.

We will enter tunnels and trenches from the First World War and admire some typical geological aspects of the province of Verona such as the ammonites set in the rock.

At the end of the circular route we will go down to the church along a paved road for about 15 minutes and after a free visit each participant will return freely to the starting point.

Age: from 7 years onwards.

Type of terrain: 0.8km of asphalt, 0.5km of dirt road and 2.2km of trail.

Estimated time: about 3.5/4 hours; to return to the Spiazzi car park from the sanctuary it takes about 25 minutes on foot. There is also the possibility, at a cost of 1.80 euros, to use the shuttle service departing every 30 minutes.

Necessary equipment: trekking shoes with good grip, hat, water, snacks.
